Eleven Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes proudly represented SSWSC at the 2022 Junior Championships last week in Salisbury, CT. Although the average age of the team was much lower this year due to conflicting dates with Junior World Championships, our youngsters stepped up to the challenge of competing against older athletes on an unfamiliar hill. The East Coast weather restricted their training opportunities with only two practice jumps before the first competition. But the Steamboat athletes were confident in themselves and found the rhythm of the hill quickly.
Here’s a recap of our team’s results. Podium finishers are in bold.
