
The squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is looking for new cadets to join the program and for adult members who can contribute, especially pilots. The youth in the Civil Air Patrol program are ages 12 to 17. Christel Houston is part of the air crew.
The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the Air Force, and it’s where cadets can learn more about aerospace education. Those in the Civil Air Patrol also help with emergency services and search and rescue.
The Civil Air Patrol is having an Open House for teens and pilots who might be interested in participating. It’s at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Bob Adams Field at the airport in Steamboat. Everyone is invited to learn more about the local Civil Air Patrol.
The cost to join for the cadets is $41 a year, as the Air Force subsidizes the cost. They meet every Tuesday.
