Ballots are being mailed out today by the Clerk & Recorder’s offices in both Moffat and Routt counties. This is to all Democrat, Republican, and unaffiliated voters for the June 28 Primary Election. Those who are unaffiliated with a party, must pick either the Republican or Democrat ballot, and you can only fill out one of them. Those primary ballots are due by June 28.

Primary candidates in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District are having a Virtual Forum Wednesday night at 6 p.m. You can watch it. The Republican candidates in CD3 are Lauren Boebert and Don Coram. Boebert is the incumbent. The Democratic Candidates are Adam Frisch, Sol Sandoval, and Alex Walker.
The 3rd Congressional District still includes Moffat and Rio Blanco counties, but no longer includes Routt County. The link to watch the forum is on our website and social media. There is also a link there where you can submit a question.

Around 1,500 runners did the Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 10K in Steamboat and Routt County Sunday. The 26.2 mile marathon winner was Michael Mitchell from Denver in 2:43:53 seconds. That was three and a half minutes faster than the second place winner who was Colin Rooney from Steamboat. Of note in the Half Marathon, the fastest overall was Neely Gracey from Lafayette. She beat all of the men and the women as well.
The Wave Pool in Craig is closed this week because of some mechanical issues that Parks and Rec has to fix. All swim lessons will be in the lap pool.
Howelsen Ice Arena has opened back up for the summer. That means summer hockey and curling leagues. There is a ribbon cutting for the new expansion at the rink on June 15. (5-7 p.m.)
Steamboat Springs High School has a new dance team and tryouts were this weekend. Alexa Struss will be the new head coach.
The new Sailor Dance Team will perform at all home football games this fall, plus a few other athletic and community events throughout the year. They’ll also perform in one CHSAA regional competitions.
