Scam Alert from Yampa Valley Electric Association. Someone is calling members and saying they can lower your electric bill. Then they need your name and account information, and possibly your credit card information to send a refund. It’s a scam. Don’t fall for it, and don’t give your credit card number out over the phone to anyone who randomly calls you.
Your primary ballot should be in the mailbox, as they were mailed out Monday for the June 28 primary in Colorado. Unaffiliated voters will have both a Democrat and Republican ballot and you only return one of them.

There is a Virtual Forum at 6 p.m. tonight, hosted by the Colorado League of Women Voters. It’s for the five candidates in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. The Republican candidates in CD3 are Lauren Boebert and Don Coram. The Democratic Candidates are Adam Frisch, Sol Sandoval, and Alex Walker. The 3rd Congressional District still includes Moffat and Rio Blanco counties, but no longer includes Routt County. Link to watch
The 94th annual Colorado State FFA Convention continues in Pueblo today, with Northwest Colorado well represented. Moffat County has ten FFA kids at the convention. Hayden has 12 kids in Pueblo. And Soroco has 24. Carmen Anarella is with the local Soroco chapter out of Oak Creek. She says the fun with the state convention is seeing and interacting with other FFA members from across Colorado.
Carmen will be a junior at Soroco. The Colorado FFA Convention wraps up Thursday.
The Educator of the Year in the Steamboat Springs School District is Nevada Musgrave, an 8th Grade Teacher at Sleeping Giant School.

Routt County Gymkhana and Roping kicks off tonight for the summer. The kids are out there barrel racing, team roping and more at Romick Arena in Steamboat Springs. Sign up is at 5 p.m. and it gets started at 6 p.m. with the national anthem. Everyone is invited to watch at the Howelsen rodeo grounds. And it’s free.
The Meeker Summer Rodeo kicks off Thursday night, June 9, and then on Thursdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 18. The fun is at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds.

The Sanctuary Trail in Steamboat is closed for the next six to eight weeks, but it will be open on the weekends. Work crews are doing fire mitigation there.
Over 175 athletes from Hayden, Steamboat Springs, and Oak Creek are enjoying the Youth Track and Field Camp this week. These are kids from kindergarten through 8th grade.
