The Yampa River has opened back up for tubing, rafting, kayaking and paddleboards. That’s because of the recent rain. Commercial tubing operations can resume immediately. But still no fishing as the water is too warm. The voluntary fishing closure runs from Chuck Lewis State Wildlife area to the western city limits.
Craig City Council meets this evening. They’ll hear a presentation on the demolition of the Moffat County Courthouse. There is a resolution authorizing the creation of the Craig Housing Authority. Staff reports include Water/Wastewater and also the finance report.
The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners and Public Health Director Kari Ladrow will hold a workshop Wednesday, July 27, with the Mesa County Public Health Medical Officer. That starts at 11 a.m. in the basement conference room.
The City of Steamboat Springs wants your opinion on the new plans for the Fire Station/City Hall project. The downtown fire station is proposed at the corner of 10th & Oak. City Hall will be right next door at 10th and Lincoln. You can see the plans at Centennial Hall and at the City Council booth at the Farmers Market this Saturday, also at EngageSteamboat.net. An open house is also from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August. 11 at 840 Yampa Street.
Community Garden when it was under construction.
The new Steamboat Springs Community Garden is officially being dedicated at 5 p.m. today. The permanent garden beds are at 1920 Pine Grove Road on land owned by UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center.
Parents in the Moffat County School District can apply for meal benefits for their kids. The application is through the Infinite Campus portal.
Tonight is Sports Physical Night at Memorial Regional Health. It’s from 5-7 p.m. on the first floor of the Medical Office Building in Craig. It’s $15. No insurance necessary. Bring your own school physical form. This is for Craig Middle School and Moffat County High School students.
Registration for winter programs in Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club is open. Check out the Winter Program Guide for tips on how to sign your kids up for all of the skiing and snowboarding programs offered by SSWSC. Scholarships are available.
