Homecoming Week at Steamboat Springs High School was celebrated with a big win on the field Friday night. The Steamboat Sailors jumped out to an early lead in their matchup with Aspen Friday night, winning the game 34-21.
At halftime, the Homecoming royalty was celebrated, with seniors Aspen Ward and Ella Piret crowned king and queen.
“It’s awesome, because I never thought through high school that I would be Homecoming King. Yeah, me neither. It’s crazy.”
The two proudly wore pink to the delight of the crowd and the many fans that packed the stands at Gardner Field.
Longtime Steamboat Springs High School teacher Lucianne Myhre was honored as Grand Marshal. She retired in June of this year.
