“Make sure that you vote your ballot. Make sure that you sign your envelope because we use that signature to verify you actually voted and give you credit.”

Moffat County has a 24-hour Election Drop Box at the east entrance of the Moffat County Courthouse on W. Victory Way. Routt County has Election Drop boxes in the alley behind the historic Routt County Courthouse downtown and also on Shield drive by the sheriffs and police building. Other Routt County dropoff locations are during business hours at the town halls in Hayden, Oak Creek, and Yampa, and also at the Clark Store in North Routt.

Three Steamboat Springs athletes have made the U.S. Alpine Ski Team. Jett Seymour is on the B Team. He grew up in Steamboat competing with Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and now races with the DU Ski Team. Cooper Puckett and Jay Poulter moved up from the D Team to the C Team for the upcoming season. The FIS Alpine Ski World Cup starts off with a weekend of Giant Slalom in Austria, Oct. 22-23.

As for snowboarding, the U.S. Snowboarding Team has been announced. From Steamboat, Taylor Gold is on the Men’s Pro Halfpipe Team. Cody Winters is on the Men’s Snowboardcross Team. Both are products of Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. Maddy Shaffrick is on the Halfpipe coaching staff.

The annual Ski and Sport Swap is this Saturday, Oct. 22. It’s an annual fundraiser for Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and presented by F.M. Light & Sons. You’ll find the cheapest and best deals for gently used skis, snowboards, boots, and poles, clothes and sports gear. Early bird shopping starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and that costs $15 at the door. Then it’s free to get in from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Give hockey a try in Craig at the Moffat County Ice Rink at Loudy-Simpson. It’s free, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is also a family BBQ and hockey swap. The U18 Bulldogs have a game Saturday night against Greeley. The puck drops at 5:30 p.m. at the Loudy-Simpson rink.
