Keep warm out there. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through this evening. Look for three to five inches of snow with more at the higher elevations. Roads will be snow packed and icy so slow down and use caution.
Seasonal closures for the winter ranges for big game start Thursday. There are multiple locations near Steamboat Springs in the Routt National Forest. This is up by the hiking gate on Spring Creek Trail, also some areas around Mad Creek, Buffalo Pass and south of the ski area. A map is on our website and social media. The closures run through mid-April at trailheads and in areas where conflicts between wildlife and people have historically occurred.
Hayden is accepting letters of interest for a town councilmember seat. You must be 21 and have lived within Hayden town limits for at least two years. Council meetings are the first and third Thursday of each month. Council members receive full health, dental, and vision coverage. Send a Letter of Interest to Town Clerk Sharon Johnson and Mayor Ryan Banks before end of day, Dec. 9.
There are two vacancies in Rio Blanco County Court. One is for County Judge and the other is for an Associate County Judge. The vacancies were created by the death from cancer of the Honorable Joe Fennessy earlier this month. There are some requirements including that you have to live in Rio Blanco County.
Nonprofits in Moffat County are gathering in the courthouse at 9 a.m. today. It was supposed to be outside, but the rally for Yampa Valley Gives Day of Giving has been moved inside because of the weather. The non-profit rally in Routt County is at 11:30 a.m. this coming Thursday on the lawn of the historic Routt County Courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs. Yampa Valley Gives Day of Giving is next Tuesday.

Construction has started on a new indoor golf simulator at Haymaker Golf Course in Steamboat Springs. It’s a Trackman 4 system and it should be ready sometime this winter. You can take lessons with the golf pro and there will be monthly co-ed leagues.
Save the date! The KRAI Holiday Drive is December 1-2. That’s this Thursday and Friday.
