Steamboat Springs Police has three new officers. They were sworn in today.
Martin Bartuska is originally from the Czech Republic, where he also played hockey. He has married into a 5th generation Routt County ranching family. He moved to Colorado five years ago.
Mikey Buccino is a 2020 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School and former Community Service Officer.
Benji Williams is originally from Fort Collins.
All three are the most recent graduates from the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy through the Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs. They’ll now start four months of field training.
Also at Monday’s swearing in ceremony, Sarah Larson was recognized for her promotion to Records Supervisor. She has been with the Steamboat Springs Police Department for ten years. She was given the honor from Christina Stewart, the Support Services Division Manager.
