The Yule Log has been found. Randy and Skyler Nelson found it in all of the heavy snow we’ve been getting, near a maintenance shed near the Rabbit Ears Motel. It’s the 43rd year for the Yule Log Hunt which is organized by the Tread of Pioneers Museum each year.

Proud of the coaching staff with what Coach Bessey is doing with JV. Just how things are coming together for our season looking ahead here.”

The Winter Rodeo Skateboard contest is Saturday evening, Dec. 17. It’s at the Routt County Fairgrounds in Hayden in the Exhibit Hall. E. Quintero is president of the Northwest Colorado Skate Dream, with big plans to raise enough money to build a new concrete skate park in Hayden.
“The objective is to keep it out of the taxpayers’ pockets. We’re trying to do it the old school way where we raise the money because we want it and we want the local kids and the community to be proud of something that we built together.”
At least one pro skater will be there, and there will be food and drink and prizes, starting around 5 p.m. It’s $10 to enter the Winter Rodeo but that goes to raising money for the skate park in Hayden. Quintero hopes to build more skate parks in all of the communities in Northwest Colorado.
