The new Steamboat Child Care Center received the official certification today and it’s ready for business.
This is Steamboat Ski Resort’s employer-based childcare facility at Hwy 40 and Walton Creek Road. It’s 4,000 square feet and ready for 35 kids. Loryn Duke with the ski area says it’s life-changing for a lot of staff.
Nineteen children of Steamboat Resort staff members are signed up for the first day which is this Monday, Dec. 19. Any other openings will be available to members of the public and that first day will be Jan. 2. The ski area has hired Sarah Mikkelson as the director of the new child care center, which is fully staffed with nine employees.
Colorado Governor Jared Polis sent a special video message of congratulations.
