Three snowmobilers activated personal location devices to get to safety over the weekend. One was on Buff Pass near Fish Creek Reservoir, after a possible crash on a snowmobile into a creek. Routt County Search and Rescue called in Classic Air Medical to airlift the person to the hospital, out of caution for their condition. A second incident was Friday with two men unsure of how to get out safely from near Dumont Lake. They sent their location to Routt County Search and Rescue who was able to help, as the men’s phone was charged to 85%. They had enough service. All three visitors were from out-of-state.
