
On Sunday, April 23, one lane of Lincoln Ave. will be closed for the removal of the holiday lights in the trees. This will be on both sides of Lincoln in downtown Steamboat Springs. Work starts at 6:30 a.m.

Turn Out The Lights As Holiday Lights Come Down For Season
One Lane Lincoln Avenue Closure Enacted Sunday Starting at 6:30 a.m.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-April 20, 2023-A one-lane closure of Lincoln Avenue will occur on Sunday, April 23, for the removal of the holiday lights in the trees on both sides of the main downtown throughfare. The lights are being removed and replaced annually to maintain tree health.
Mainstreet Steamboat manages the holiday lights through funding from the city along Lincoln Avenue and has contracted with SAVATREE to remove the holiday lights in all of the trees along both sides of the avenue.
The right-hand lane of eastbound Lincoln Avenue will be closed starting at approximately 6:30 a.m. with crews working from 12th to 3rd Street. The closure then shifts to the right-hand lane going westbound from 4th to 9th Street. The work and closure are expected to be completed by 4:30 p.m. the same day, pending no weather delays.
Steamboat Springs Transit operations will continue as normal during the lane closures.
Traffic Control Specialists (TCS) will be executing the traffic control plan during the closure. CDOT has approved the permit for the project.
