2023 Yampa Valley Electric Association Board Election Results
Three seats on YVEA’s Board of Directors were up for election this year. Candidates had to be members of the Co-op and live in the district they sought election to represent.
YVEA uses Survey & Ballot Systems as a third-party ballot counter for the mail in ballots. Ballots were mailed to members on May 26th, 2023, and needed to either be returned to Survey Ballots by June 22nd, 2023, or voted upon in person at the Annual Meeting.
On June 27th, 2023, at Yampa Valley Electric Association’s Annual Meeting, YVEA members elected the following Directors to the YVEA Board of Directors:
• District 2 – Moffat County, Sunbeam and Maybell: Ray DuBois. In District 2, Debbie Cook received 938 votes, Ray DuBois received 1,106 votes.
• District 3 – City Of Craig: Sasha Nelson (incumbent – uncontested)
• District 6 – North Routt County and Steamboat Springs: Tom Fox. In District 6, Tom Fox received 1,135 votes, Lisa Rosintoski received 926 votes.
Results showed a total of 2,089 ballots received. Of those ballots, 2,061 were paper mail-in ballots and 28 were voted in-person. This represents a little over 10% of our membership having voted.
Newly elected board members will be onboarded prior to the July 18th regularly scheduled Board Meeting, so they are able to participate in the July 18th meeting. YVEA Board of Directors serve a three-year term, with three directors coming up for election each year.
YVEA would like to thank the candidates for their commitment to YVEA and our members. Additionally, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to our members who participated in this year’s election.
