Steamboat Ski Resort has announced the base area will host a Balloon Glow this Saturday night, July 29. It’s part of the Yampa Valley Balloon Rodeo this weekend. Pilots and their balloons will light up Mountain Village from 8-9 p.m. as the balloons are inflated on the lawn at the base of Steamboat Resort as it gets dark.
If there is bad weather, it will be a candlestick glow. The event could be canceled or modified in the event of high winds and/or rain.
The Balloon Glow is followed by free Coca-Cola Movies on the Mountain. Saturday’s movie is Parent Trap.
Free parking is available in the Knoll lot. Carpooling, riding the free bus, walking, or riding your bike is strongly encouraged.
Other Suggestions from Steamboat Resort:
- The Balloon Glow takes place in the dark. If you are walking on the mountain to access your condo, we recommend bringing a flashlight or headlamp to light your way.
- Guests are invited to bring low-back chairs and blankets to view the Coca-Cola Movie on the Mountain after Balloon Glow.
- Please leave pets at home
