Aaron Namura has spent a lot of time behind the wheel of a bus… at least 40,000 hours. That’s more than any other driver. The Steamboat Springs Transit bus driver has been driving a city bus since 2003.

“I just kind of moved to Steamboat from Summit County and decided to drive a bus and it turns out perfect because I ski and snowboard over 100 days per season. So it works perfectly. I like who I work with, working with the city. It’s the only full-time job I’ve ever had and the only one I’ll ever need.”

Namura has no plans of stopping driving a city bus. He says each loop is different and he enjoys the people he meets who are riding the bus.

The Winter Bus Schedule for the City of Steamboat Springs is now in effect. Steamboat Springs Transit has 42 bus drivers ready to go for the winter season.
