Those who want to give their input on the Bear River Bike and Skate Parks are invited to a community meeting Tuesday, Feb. 27. The steering committee working with the City of Steamboat Springs Parks & Recreation Department wants more input from the community. The Bike Park meeting is at 4 p.m. and the Skate Park Meeting is right after, at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings are in the upstairs meeting room at Howelsen Ice Arena.

Bear River Bike & Skate Parks Second Community Meeting
February 27 Meeting Looks At Preliminary Designs For Reimagined Parks
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO-February 6, 2024-The City of Steamboat Springs Parks & Recreation Department will hold its second meeting for the steering committee working on the designs for the reimagined Bear River Bike & Skate Park on Tuesday, February 27.
“We appreciate the initial input from the steering committee and park community,” said Matt Barnard, Parks & Recreation Development Manager. “We’re looking to carry the momentum forward and finalize the plans for the two parks and really would like to see as many folks participate as possible in the second session.”
The second meeting is open to all members who served on the initial steering committee as well as all members of the community. The session will be held in the upstairs meeting room at the Howelsen Ice Arena (285 Howelsen Parkway) and broken into two phases specifically focusing on the bike park, then the skate park.

Team Pain and Flowride Concepts have been working on preliminary park concepts for each sport based on feedback from the earlier Steering Committee meeting in August 2023 as well as survey responses.
