Heavy snow and more winter weather is headed our way again and it could be very windy with this one.

The U.S. National Weather Service out of Grand Junction predicts rain and snow today, “and 40-50 mph winds on the higher terrain as the jet stream overhead moves east out of the region.”

Yampa Valley Electric Association also says to watch for heavy winds starting tonight. Be prepared for power and internet outages.  Crews and contractors are on stand-by, ready to respond to any outages caused by this next storm.

Call it in if you are without power or internet. If you are without power, call 970-879-1160. If you are without internet, call 970-870-4320.

There is an Outage Center on the YVEA website so you can see where those outages are. YVEA will also be updating their Facebook page.

Press release from Yampa Valley Electric Association; Feb. 7, 2024.

We currently have all crews and contractors on stand-by to respond to outages caused by the storm. Power outage updates will be posted on the Yampa Valley Electric Association Facebook page.
