The storm that has hit Colorado is causing problems at Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden. Eight of the 13 inbound flights on Wednesday had to divert to Denver, and then seven of those eight flights were canceled. 884 passengers that were supposed to arrive in Hayden didn’t make it. And 877 departing passengers couldn’t get out. Weather is expected to be just as challenging today.

Expect snow and very windy weather today with this storm. Steamboat Resort says wind gusts from 45 to 85 miles per hour will have impacts on operations and lift closures. Sunset Happy Hour tonight will be at Timber & Torch.  The Town Challenge Ski Ascent Series for tonight has also been postponed because of the weather.

Renewals for the Ikon Pass for the upcoming season go on sale today. Purchase now for the early-bird discounted prices. The Ikon Base Pass is $819 if you renew early. That is the one that has blackout dates. The regular Ikon Pass will be $1,149 for the early renewal price without any blackout dates. There is also a four-day pass available, but it also has blackout dates. Ikon Pass Details

“It seems like everybody is really excited about it and we’re still working out the details for sure, but it sounds like quite a few people are very interested in putting cars in here and hopefully we’ll get a good amount of attendance that day, too.”

There will also be a free community concert after the Demolition Derby.

Pre-sale tickets will be available soon through www.MoffatCountyFair.com  Pre-Sale tickets are $20. Tickets on the day of the event are $30. Kids seven and under are free.

The Fair Board is also looking for sponsors of the event. Contact: 970-824-9180 or jgoodnow@moffatcounty.net
