The office of United States Senator John Hickenlooper is working on reaching out to the many postal subcontractors in Steamboat Springs, Craig, and around the state, who had not been paid since October. Steamboat Radio News broke the news about the lack of payments last week. Many subcontractors just started getting paid this week and that first check was over $1 million. Senator Hickenlooper’s office is arranging a consumer liaison group specifically to work with the subcontractors to make sure they get paid for what they are still owed for the work done for the local postal service. The subcontractors will be notified soon, in both English and Spanish.
