Ag Appreciation Week continues in the Yampa Valley. The Master Gardeners with the Routt County Extension Office made a breakfast for ag producers and guests Wednesday morning.
The event was hosted by the Community Agriculture Alliance. Michele Meyer is the executive director. She says it is important to recognize the hard work that agriculture brings on a day-to-day basis.
“Today, agriculture feeds us, clothes us, and if we think about the future of agriculture in this valley, it’s not only is going to keep us looking the way it is, it has great environmental impacts, and it’s our future for our youth as well. So it’s the past, it’s the present, it’s the future, it’s our heritage, It’s all of it, for agriculture.”
The breakfast was provided by: Home Ranch, Elk River Custom Processing, Two Lazy 8 Ranch, J&J Honey, Steamboat Coffee Company, and the Routt County Master Gardeners.
The Community Ag Alliance Market is at 743 Oak Street. Over 60 local farmers, ranchers, and local food producers from the Yampa Valley provide products such as beef, pork, lamb, poultry, honey, eggs, seasonal vegies, cheeses, and more.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
