Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehabilitation in Craig is offering to help Casey’s Pond Senior Living. The Steamboat Springs facility has gone into receivership and 47 residents in the skilled nursing area have been told they have 90 days to leave.
Sandrock Ridge has already taken one person from Casey’s Pond. Gina Andujo, the Nursing Home Administrator at Sandrock Ridge, says other families have reached out about availability at the Craig facility.

Andujo gave a tour to Steamboat Radio News with Jeremy Summers, RN.
“We are very proud of our facility and we’re proud of what we do for the members of the community and the surrounding area. We know that Casey’s Pond is going to be closing. We want to let everyone know that we are going to have 11 beds opening. Feel free to visit us or to call us.”
Sandrock Ridge opened in 2004. The previous facility in Craig was Valley View Manor, which closed in 2003. At that time, residents were dispersed across the Western Slope, including the Doak Walker facility in Steamboat Springs. Now, residents from the Doak Walker section of Casey’s Pond are possibly moving back to Craig.

Sandrock Ridge also has been approved for a dementia unit. There will be 14 beds available as soon as the licensing is finalized which should be two to three weeks.
