The Republican Party of Colorado statewide continues to work on leadership with recent votes to remove GOP Chairman Dave Williams as the party leader and the other officers. Williams says they won’t recognize the results. Those voting elected Eli Bremer from El Paso County as chair and former Routt County Treasurer Brita Horn as vice chair.
“It’s really an honor to serve the Republican Party at the state level and I’m looking forward to the next 72 days to get all of our candidates across the finish line.”
Horn says the team has received verification from the National Republican Congressional Committee that the new board is official.

Remember to buckle up. Not only does it help if you’re in a crash, but it is the law. In a two-week period in late July, Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement handed out 714 tickets state wide for folks not buckling up with 60 tickets issued for kids not restrained properly in a vehicle. Three of those adult violations were in Craig. Steamboat Springs had seven violations, with two of those for no insurance. CDOT says that Colorado currently has an 89% seat belt use rate.
Craig City Council meets tonight. Council will discuss and choose the person to fill the vacant council seat. Municipal Judge Jay Cranmer will be there to administer the Oath of Office. Staff reports will be from Water and Wastewater, Finance, and Road & Bridge.
