The Craig Rotary Club will be awarding Rosemary Crosthwaite with the 2024 Bill and Nancy Muldoon Humanitarian of the Year Award. Crosthwaite will be honored at the Diamonds and Spurs Gala Saturday night, hosted by Craig Rotary at the Moffat County Fairgrounds.

A check for $141,545,57 was presented to Northwest Colorado Health this week, from the Steamboat Springs Rotary Club. Money raised was from the recent LobsterFest Gala.

The Walton Creek Tunnel in Steamboat is now decorated with the words, “Go with the flow.” It was an art project with Steamboat Springs Middle School and some high school students. Garret Bock is the Fine Arts Teacher there.
“They love it. They want to do more so hopefully we can do some more in the future.”
About 30 students helped with the project. Most of the work was done on Thursday. It is hoped that the mural will cut down on graffiti in the tunnels. Bock hopes to do more murals around the community with the students in the future.

It’s Homecoming Week at Hayden High School. The Hayden Tigers and SoRoCo Rams meet tonight in their big rivalry game. It’s at 7 p.m. tonight in Hayden. An alumni and community celebration starts at 6 p.m. and there is a tailgate for the Routt County Ag-Ed program at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a meal from both the Hayden and SoRoCo FFA Chapters before the game.
The Moffat County Bulldogs are on the road tonight against Basalt. Here’s Zach Hedman on the game.

Kickoff tonight is at 7 p.m. and again that game is AWAY.
The Steamboat Sailors have another bye week. The Girls Volleyball team will honor their seniors at their game at 1 p.m. Saturday at the high school. They play Glenwood.

The Steamboat Sailors Dance Team is hosting a Disney Character Tea Party. It’s from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Strawberry Park Elementary School and it’s free.
The Fall Festival on Ice is from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Howelsen Ice Arena. Free skating, food and drinks, and community outreach. Everyone is invited. Helmets are recommended. This event is hosted by Howelsen Ice Arena, Integrated Community, and the City of Steamboat Springs.

The Hayden Hall of Horrors is back at the Routt County Fairgrounds. It starts tonight, and it’s every night through Oct. 27. On weekend nights, there will be scare actors from different groups and nonprofits. Part of the proceeds will go back to those nonprofits.
The Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado is hosting Movie Night tonight for high school students. The movie is Beetlejuice on the big screen in the gym. It’s from 7-10 p.m. Open Gym is Saturday night from 5-8 p.m.
STARS is hosting the Steamboat Mountain Film Festival, with two shows on Saturday at STARS Ranch (35465 US Hwy 40). It’s a ski movie called Beyond the Fantasy. Tickets and showtimes are at SteamboatFilmFestival.com
The Colorado West Filmmakers Forum brings together filmmakers, students, and community members to gain crucial insights about the filmmaking industry. The forum is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday at the library in Steamboat Springs and it is free. It includes lunch and snacks. The 41st annual Writers Conference is at the Depot Art Center. A meet and greet buffet dinner is Friday and a workshop is Saturday. Registration information is on our website.
The Wyman Museum is hosting their annual Pumpkin Patch, with the Colorado First Conservation District First Annual Soil Health Festival. There will be lots of food and activities for the entire family, and it’s from, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The Town of Yampa is hosting Coffee with the Mayor at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Crossan’s. Meet Mayor Stacey Geilert.
Haunted Hayrides are from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Bar Lazy L Ranch, which is 15 minutes north of Steamboat Springs. This is a local horror story with a haunted horse-drawn hayride, spooky willow walk, jumps, scares and screams.
This is for ages eight and older. Any kids between the ages of eight and 12 must be chaperoned by a legal adult. Everyone who attends must sign a liability waiver. The cost is $35 per adult and pre-registration is required as space is limited. Use the QR Code on the flyer.
This event is a fundraiser benefitting the Routt County 4H Teen Exchange group.
