It is Thanksgiving Day. The Turkey Trot is Thursday morning with hundreds of people, many dressed as turkeys, running from Steamboat Springs High School around to Strawberry Park, and back again. We’ll have pictures on the Steamboat Radio Facebook page.
The annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Steamboat Springs is from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. This is free, all are invited from Routt and Moffat counties. You’ll make new friends and get delicious food. The free Thanksgiving Community dinner is sponsored by United Way of the Yampa Valley, Mountain Valley Bank, and Steamboat Resort.
A group called Steamboat Secret Santas is helping spread some holiday cheer to families this Christmas. There are 35 families that need a Secret Santa. Go to their website at SteamboatSecretSantas.com and complete the Secret Santa Form. This can be for people who want to be a Secret Santa, or for recipients. Then, getting at least one gift on the Secret Santa list is appreciated. Details are on their website at https://steamboatsecretsantas.com/
There is no trash service Thanksgiving Day in Craig. If Thursday is your scheduled pickup day, your trash will be picked up tomorrow, on Friday.
Friday is Fresh Air Friday. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a visit to all Colorado state parks on Friday for free. Those state parks in our area include Elkhead Reservoir, Pearl Lake, Stagecoach, Steamboat Lake, and Yampa River State Park.
