The principal of Ridgeview Elementary School in the Moffat County School District has been honored. Crystal Miller has been chosen to be one of 40 Colorado principals to attend the prestigious Tointon Institute for Educational Change this summer. More than 200 people applied to the Principal Leadership Academy, held at the University of Northern Colorado.

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners is holding a personnel workshop today with representatives from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office.
Steamboat Springs City Council meets tonight. Agenda items include reports from the Parks & Recreation Commission and the City Attorney. Council will also go into Executive Session to work on the selection process for City Manager, as well as compensation and employment terms for the person hired.
The Routt County Republicans Central Committee have elected their officials. Heather DeVos is Chair, followed by Lisa Rosintoski, Leslie Bell, and Tom Chaney. Janny Moser is Secretary and Karrie Littman is Treasurer.
The Mental Health Minute for Routt and Moffat counties has been updated on our website. This week’s topic is about getting through the long cold winter, from Mindy Marriott, who is the Executive Director for REPS, which is Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide.

Today is the last day to enter the Creative Arts Scholarship Contest for the Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition. There are three categories: Story or Essay, Poetry or Song, and Visual Arts. This is for all high school seniors in Moffat and Routt counties. The deadline is Feb. 18, 2025. More Information is at ColoradoCranes.org

Congratulations to the Steamboat Stampede 12UA Pee Wee Hockey team for winning the Rocky Mountain Shootout in Fort Collins over the weekend. They beat the Utah Junior Mustangs, 5-2, in the championship game.
