The Colorado State Forest Service has announced Wildfire Mitigation Grants to 26 counties. Two were issued in Routt County.
- Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust was awarded a grant of $108,000. The project is the Steamboat Front Fuels & Forest Health Treatments and Restoration.
- The Sanctuary HOA/Central Park Management was given a grant for the Sanctuary Gambel Oak Mitigation Project, for $22,054.

The Steamboat Springs Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $20,000 grant to create a Yampa River Interpretive Center in downtown Steamboat Springs. The grant is from the Colorado Tourism Office.
The Craig Police Department is hiring new police officers. The press release says to apply if you are “passionate about serving your community and making a difference in the lives of others.” Apply through the City of Craig’s website. Look for the employment tab.

Registration for summer camp at the Boys & Girls Club in Craig starts today for all current members. It opens up to the public on Thursday. Summer camp registration for the Steamboat Springs Boys & Girls Club is next week. More information is at BGCNWC.org/SummerCamp

Bye Bye Birdie is the spring play on stage at Moffat County High School starting Thursday.
Twenty-five cast members range from 8th grade to seniors, including Ronin Miller, Keylee Bower, Guadalupe Lopez, and Perrin Smith.
There is a live orchestra of students and community members. Shows are at 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. extra matinee on Saturday. Tickets are at the door. Pictures are on the KRAI & 55 Country Facebook page.
The community is invited to a discussion of “When Discrimination Kills: Suicide Prevention for Marginalized Communities.” It’s at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in Library Hall and Bud Werner Memorial Library. This is presented by STAND (Steamboat Team to Disrupt Antisemitism and Discrimination). This evening will feature personal stories, educational insights, and meaningful conversation aimed at fostering dialogue and reflection on suicide and discrimination.
All Routt County high school students are invited to visit the Routt County Prom Closet, and get a free dress that has been donated. Sign up for a slot on April 11-12. The Prom Closet is at the Heart of Steamboat United Methodist Church. Over 150 dresses are available. This is for all students in Routt County, including Steamboat Springs, Hayden, and SoRoCo. The Yampa Valley Wyldlife group, which is middle school students in Young Life, is having a fundraiser to raise money to go to Crooked Creek Ranch Camp this Summer. It’s called the “Egg My Yard” fundraiser. Sign up to purchase between 25 and 500 eggs before April 12, for $1 an egg. They’ll fill the eggs and hide them in your yard the night before Easter.
