Seniors at Hayden High School wrapped up their year-long Senior Capstone Projects with presentations at Hayden High School Tuesday. The projects represent a year of students exploring their interests related to their future academic, professional, or personal goals.

Projects ranged from training a wild mustang horse to rebuilding a truck engine, to becoming a certified welding inspector.

The projects were supervised by the Capstone Advisor, Katherine George, and guided by an experienced mentor selected from the school or community.

Families and community members viewed students’ projects and listened to their presentations during the evening.

George says, “Seniors ended the evening with high-fives and hugs as they celebrated completing the biggest requirement of their high school career.”

A capstone project is a final, comprehensive project undertaken by students, typically at the end of a degree program, to demonstrate their understanding and skills in a specific field. It serves as a culminating experience, allowing students to apply what they have learned throughout their studies in a practical, real-world setting.
