Steamboat Resort opens for summer operations Friday, May 23. The resort is open weekends until June 13 when it opens daily. This includes the Steamboat Gondola which provides access to hiking trails and the Oasis Grill at the top of Thunderhead. Skeeter’s Lawn and the Range Food & Drink Hall are open a Steamboat Square.
This summer will feature Coca-Cola Movies on the Mountain, Stranahan’s Summer Concert Series, Captain of the Boat Bike Series, Gravity Girls, Sunset Happy Hour and weekly Yoga on the Mountain. There will also be a Stranahan’s 4th of July Concert.
Also, on June 13, Wild Club Gondola will open with access to beginner and intermediate biking terrain and on-mountain services at Greenhorn Ranch.
Summer daily operations continue through Labor Day weekend. After that, weekend operations will return in the fall.
Ikon Passholders can use their pass for summer access to the gondola.

Steamboat Resort Summer Operations
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO – May 7, 2025 – With the snow rapidly melting, Steamboat Ski Resort turns its attention to summer operations slated to open for weekends on Friday, May 23, 2025 with the Steamboat Gondola and access to hiking trails including Guided Hike & Lunch, yard games on Skeeter’s Lawn, rental and retail, Oasis Grill at the top of Thunderhead Lodge and the lower level of The Range Food & Drink Hall.
Daily summer operations kick off June 13 and will feature Coca Cola Movies on the Mountain, Stranahan’s Summer Concert Series, Captain of the Boat Bike Series, Gravity Girls, Sunset Happy Hour and weekly Yoga on the Mountain throughout the season. The resort is working on new specialty events including Stranahan’s 4th of July concert and will announce updates when available.
In addition to regular summer operations, Wild Blue Gondola will operate whisking guests up to mid-station for access to intermediate and beginner biking terrain, as well as on-mountain services at Greenhorn Ranch, starting on June 13. From Wild Blue mid-station bikers can access intermediate trail Wrangler’s Gulch and beginner trails lower Lickity Split and Lasso, all of which used to only be accessible via Christie Peak Express lift and up the upper portion of Lickity Split.
“Wild Blue has been a game changer for the resort for so many reasons,” said Dave Hunter, president and COO of Steamboat Ski Resort. “We’ve talked a lot about how Wild Blue puts our guests in the heart of the mountains in the winter, now we are doing the same for summer. With Wild Blue and Steamboat Gondola we are making the entire mountain easily accessible for biking and hiking.”
Not all features of summer are available during the early season weekend operations, and guests are encouraged to check the Steamboat website or app for daily updates. Summer daily operations will continue through Labor Day weekend; followed by a return to weekend operations into the fall based on weather conditions for the Steamboat Bike Park and Scenic Gondola rides.
Ikon Passholders who have purchased their 2025/26 season pass can use their pass for summer access to the gondola, as well as discounts at mountain restaurants and retail outlets.
