Last Day of School in SoRoCo, Hayden, and Moffat County is today, May 22. The last day of school for Steamboat is June 3.

The Yampa River Fund Steering Committee has announced seven grants they are awarding this year, for $278,945.60. It is to projects on the Yampa that benefit the river and its tributaries. They are:
- 2025 Yampa River Environmental Release Program – Colorado Water Trust
- Morgan Bottom Connectivity Project: Phase II – Friends of the Yampa
- Yampa River Forest Restoration Project – Yampa Valley Sustainability Council
- Nonlethal Beaver Management in the Yampa Valley – Friends of the Yampa
- Wet Meadow Restoration on Conserved Lands to Improve Watershed Health – Colorado Cattleman’s Agricultural Land Trust
- Stillwater Reservoir Drain, Collar, and Channel Replacement Project – Bear River Reservoir Co.
- Duquette Diversion Hydraulic Modeling – Community Agriculture Alliance

Join local veterans at the Steamboat Cemetery to put flags on graves and practice the Memorial Day Service at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22.
Flags are being placed at the Hayden Cemetery tonight at 6 p.m. for anyone who would like to help.
Memorial Day services are this coming Monday at cemeteries throughout Northwest Colorado.
Taylor Street in Craig is closed at 3rd Street to all through traffic, starting today. The closure is through June 4.
The Brown’s Amusements Carnival is at the Moffat County Fairgrounds in Craig, today through Monday, May 22-26.
The North Park Pioneer Museum in Walden opens for the summer season on Saturday, May 24. Jason Slane is the docent for the museum.
“We have 27 fantastic rooms filled with things that are little bit of everything from North Park. We really love it and we’re proud of it and we love to show it off. We hope you come to see us this summer.”
The museum is behind the Jackson County Courthouse in Walden. It is in an original ranch home built in 1882 and donated and moved to the current location. Everything in the museum represents North Park pioneers and their everyday lifestyles.
The museum is open daily, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting this Saturday, May 24, through Labor Day. Or appointments can be made by calling 24 hours in advance to 970-846-7507 or 970-594-4190.

Grand Old West Days is at the Moffat County Fairgrounds, starting on Friday. This includes the CSHRA Colorado State High School and Junior High School rodeo finals. There is family friendly entertainment, concerts and free rodeo performances every day. Professional Cowboy exhibition match roping and barrel race Saturday before the Jarrod Morris concert. The Free Summer Music Fest at Snow Bowl Steamboat is every Wednesday this summer, (May 28-Sept. 17), with five Sunday shows. The first one is this Sunday, with Pixie & The Partygrass Boys and bands all afternoon, from 2-8 p.m. Ride your bike or take the free bus.
