Warm and windy weather resulted in a Red Flag Warning issued for Moffat, Routt, and Eagle counties, by the National Weather Service on Monday. It is because of an elevated risk of wildfires. Yampa Valley Electric went into Fire Protection Mode which means power lines are more sensitive and can stop the flow of energy if they are contacted such as by a tree that may have fallen on a power line. If that is the case, power will remain off in an area until YVEA crews can get out to inspect.
