Colorado Parks and Wildlife has released this year’s Colorado Gray Wolf Annual Report. A link to it is on our website. It’s for April 1 last year through the end of March this year, so it does not include the recent killings of livestock by wolves in Pitkin County. But it does list the 15 new wolves released from British Columbia in January, and the five wolves that died during that time frame.

Work continues in Craig at the intersection of 4th and Ranney. Pull boxes to hold electrical wiring, and cabinet and meter pedestal bases are being installed. Expect shoulder closures. Work will not be done on the 4th of July and through mid-July as the project team waits for materials to arrive.

Traffic Impacts

  • At the intersection of West 4th Street and Ranney Street (US 40), traffic may be reduced to one lane during work hours.
  • At the intersection of Yampa Ave. (CO 13) and 9th Street, shoulder closures can be expected.
  • Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm.
  • There will be no work on weekends, the 4th of July, or Labor Day.

Night work may occur and will be announced in advance, if necessary.
