Coming Up: 2025 Vail Invitational to Be Held in Steamboat Springs

This weekend, the 46th annual Vail Invitational Figure Skating Championships will take place at Howelsen Ice Arena, hosted by the Skating Club of Vail in collaboration with Steamboat Skating Club.  The event will run Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19, from approximately 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM each day, welcoming skaters from across the region.

This year, the Vail Invitational has been temporarily relocated to Steamboat Springs due to the closure of Dobson Ice Arena—home to the Skating Club of Vail since it opened in 1979—which is undergoing a major two-year renovation. In bringing this beloved event to a new location, the Skating Club of Vail is excited to partner with the Steamboat Skating Club and the City of Steamboat, a community known for its welcoming spirit, local charm, and strong support for youth sports.

This year, the Steamboat Skating Club will be represented by 30 skaters competing in 44 events, offering spectators a chance to cheer on hometown athletes throughout the weekend.

The Steamboat Skating Club invites fans, families, and community members to come out and enjoy two full days of figure skating excitement—right in their own backyard.

The Steamboat Skating Club is an inclusive organization that provides ice skaters of all abilities and ambitions the opportunity to develop personally, athletically and artistically in a positive, fun, and supportive environment.
