The Routt County Board of County Commissioners meets Tuesday, July 22. One agenda item includes the appointment of Vicki Hagen to the South Routt Library Board. Local Routt County 4-H kids will be at the meeting to invite the commissioners to the Routt County Fair in August, and to thank commissioners for their support of the fair. Tinneal Gerber, the director of Yampa Valley Regional Airport is also on the agenda to discuss the authorization of the expansion of Terminal West.

At 1 p.m., there is a post event meeting for SBT GRVL. Commissioners will hear from race organizers about how the event went in June. Then on July 29, there is a permit hearing for the SBT GRVL ride next year. That’s at 1 p.m. as well.

Agenda

The Moffat County Board of County Commissioners meets with Craig City Council for a combined workshop at 4 p.m. today. Then Craig City Council has its regular meeting at 6:30 tonight.

The Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Council is hosting a Steamboat Wildfire Outreach Meeting. It is at 6:15 p.m. tonight at Bud Werner Library. The meeting will be to learn about programs the council can offer to help you reduce your wildfire risk.

Wednesday, July 23, is the deadline to enter the BBQ Smokeout Jackpot, hosted by the Moffat County Cattlewomen. The event is 5:30 p.m., August 8, at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. You must provide 110 samples in the meat of your choice if you want to be a competitor. For more information, call 970-620-5662.

Wednesday, July 23, is the last day to RSVP for the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Friends of Wilderness. It’s from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, in Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill. Friends of Wilderness’s 25th anniversary event celebrates two and a half decades working with its longstanding partner the US Forest Service in protecting nearby wilderness areas. The event is also celebrating the creation of the Elaine & Win Dermody Endowment Fund for their 25 years volunteering and supporting the U.S. Forest Service. It’s a family friendly event and all are invited. Smokey Bear plans to visit. Please RSVP by July 23 to shellyfriendsofwilderness@gmail.com

The Community Budget Center in Craig now has an EBay store. Some of their items can be found there, and more will be on there soon. Here’s Zech Schultz with the CBC.

“It’s going to be everything. Collectables. You’re going to see a variety of everything. There will be higher end. Just what comes in and what’s available to put on Ebay.”

You can find it on Ebay at CommunityBudgetCenterCharity. There are only a few things on there right now, but they plan to have it grow right away.
