A mandatory evacuation was given to Craig residents in the area of 9th and 13th streets, when a house caught on fire Sunday afternoon. Here’s Sgt. Nicholas Cordova with the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office.
“We do not know the cause of the initial fire right now. Once we have that information, we will release it. It is now considered a wildland fire because it spread to grass areas in the area.”
Ground and air assets worked on containing the fire. Residents were eventually allowed back in their homes. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Updates on this fire will be on the Facebook pages for the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office and Craig Police.
