Screamboat is looking for a new home. This is the Haunted House typically held every year at Colorado Mountain College, which didn’t host it last year and will not host it again this year. Organizers would love to find a new spot to have it. If it is indoors, a fire sprinkler system is needed to meet code. If it is outdoors, sprinklers are not required but there needs to be enough open space to build and set up the haunt. If you can help, reach out to Ric MacNeil at RicMacneil@gmail.com or call 813-767-0674.
Steamboat Springs High School hosted their Homecoming Dance somewhere new this year, on the stage in Steamboat Square at the base of Steamboat Resort, instead of in the high school commons. This was an idea from the SSHS Student Leadership class, who did all of the work to make it happen, including raising the money through donations from local businesses, and increasing the ticket price.
Senior Cole Contois led the charge from the leadership class.
“I would say it was super successful. The DJs after, they told me, ‘This vibe is super high, like all these kids are awesome and having a lot of fun,” so I think it turned out to be a good success.”
Local law enforcement was at the scene the entire evening, as were employees from Steamboat Resort to make sure the evening went smoothly, which it did. Lots of pictures are on Steamboat Radio’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
