Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust (CCALT) has announced two conservation easement closings. One is 2,348 acres on the Fish & Cross Ranch west of Yampa, with the Snyder Family. It’s known as the “Gateway to the Flattops.”

The second is a partnership with the Routt County Purchase of Development Rights Program and landowner Susan Larson to conserve 120 acres of Wild Goose Ranch in Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation has announced the acquisition of the Gravity Haus property in Steamboat. It’s at the base area, and can be booked through Steamboat Central Reservations at www.steamboat.com.
The new Steamboat Springs Fire Station has received a national award from the Fire Industry Education Resource Organization Station Design Conference. It’s for the new 17,500-square-foot fire station facility next to the new City Hall building.

K9 Amon has a new bullet and stab protective vest. Amon is the police dog with Steamboat Springs Police. The vest was courtesy of a charitable donation from a group called Vested Interest in K9s.
In Craig, the Rotary Club has chosen Tom Gilchrist and Monty Robertson as the recipients of this year’s Bill & Nancy Muldoon Humanitarian Award.
The new runway in Jackson County has been completed, serving Colorado’s North Park region. It’s one mile north of Walden at the Jackson County Airport.

Today is First Friday Art Walk at galleries throughout downtown Steamboat Springs, and the Depot Art Center. This is a free, self-guided tour, from 5-8 p.m. tonight. Hayden Night Live 2025 – The Good, The Bad, and the Funny is Saturday, Oct. 4, at The Hayden Center. Doors and the bar open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
HNL is a (sometimes) adult-themed variety show all about the “quirky little town” of Hayden. From post office drama to anonymous Facebook posters to the wacky opinions on mosquito spraying, HNL will dive deep into poking fun at the wonderful place they call home – Hayden! This event is put on 100% by Hayden community members and is the annual fundraiser for the Hayden Arts Commission.

The Rio Blanco County Pioneers Association Picnic has been rescheduled to Oct. 4, after it had to be postponed for the fires this summer. It is the 113th year for the annual dinner and dance with the theme, “Century Families.” The fun is at the Fairfield Center in Meeker on Saturday, Oct. 4. Tickets are $50 per person. OctoberFest at the Haven Assisted Living is from 3:30-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5. It is the 5th year for the annual event and everyone is invited. There will be live music and food, a silent auction, pumpkin painting and more fun.

The wrestling team at Moffat County High School is hosting a Prime Rib Dinner fundraiser Saturday night at the high school.
