The Steamboat Sailors Cross Country Track team journeyed to Copper Mountain Friday for the Summit Stinger at Copper, considered the “highest and toughest grass Cross Country course.”

Head Coach Lisa Renee Tumminello writes, “Our athletes showed incredible grit on the three lap course with a 22% climb each lap. It is certainly not a PR course (personal record) but one that develops mental toughness as we press forward towards our championship races in future weeks.”

The Sailor men placed fourth overall with Conor Devin, Sawyer Landers, Gavin Hendricks, Bode Rhodes and Quentin Nance leading the scoring with Benji Langness and Ryan Becker close behind.

The women finished fourth overall with a pack finish with Ayla Oslowski, Emerald Weber, and Evie Fisher (14, 15, 16th), then Lily Garey, Gigi Lobeck, Carson Dressendorfer and Cora Hoffman pushing forward in the pack.

Results will be posted here (when available)
