Moffat County School District has announced a partnership with Colorado Mountain College, that will offer concurrent enrollment opportunities in advanced training in nursing, educational studies, and culinary arts. While teachers in Moffat County will be the primary instructors, CMC will provide supervision and resources, as well as accreditation for certificates and official documentation of course completion. The full press release is below.
The courses and programs are also available to Steamboat Springs High School students, not only at the school but on the CMC campus.
Kevin Williams, the CMC Steamboat Springs Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, adds, “Those courses and programs are available to Steamboat Springs High School students. Our CNA is built on campus, but we have many high school students that take those courses, the lab is on our campus, and we build it at a time that works for high school and community students. We offer education courses at Steamboat Springs High School starting this year and culinary is an on-campus program. SSHS students have access to a variety of programs through the high school as well as at our campus via concurrent enrollment. Because of the close proximity of our high school and the campus, concurrent enrollment students have access at both locations.”

For Immediate Release: Moffat County School District announces new concurrent enrollment partnership with Colorado Mountain College offering three new career pathways
CRAIG, CO — Moffat County School District is excited to announce a new partnership that will create even more opportunities for Moffat County High School students to expand their educational profile and prepare for career opportunities and post-secondary studies while still attending high school.
The partnership is with Colorado Mountain College, with whom the district has entered into an agreement to pursue categories of career pathway studies not previously offered to our students. Through this partnership with CMC, MCSD plans to offer its students concurrent enrollment pathways in advanced training in the disciplines of nursing, educational studies, and culinary arts.
“This new relationship expands our portfolio in an exciting new way,” said MCSD superintendent Dr. Mathew Neal. “I’ve been very pleased with the opportunities that our students have had through our partnership with CNCC in the areas of Auto, Cosmetology and Associates of Science, and I’m additionally pleased that our high school students will have even more high-quality options as they work toward graduation and opportunities that extend beyond the walls of our classrooms.”
MCSD educators will be the primary instructors for the courses, for which CMC will provide supervision and curricular resources, as well as accreditation necessary to grant certificates and other appropriate official documentation of course completion. Future courses will include pathways beyond associates degrees even to eventually obtaining bachelor’s degrees from Colorado Mountain College.
“Now, Bulldogs will have the opportunity to graduate high school as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA), or with career-ready qualifications in teaching or culinary disciplines,” Dr. Neal said. “We’re so grateful to add this new partnership with Colorado Mountain College to our existing pathways. Between those currently offered through our long-standing partner, CNCC, who continues to provide high-quality opportunities in a number of valuable areas, and these new opportunities, Moffat County High School students now have even more ways to prepare for a great future.”
