Three members of the Board of Directors of North Routt Community Charter School have announced their resignation. They are:
- Board President Kim Smith
- Board Secretary Jenn Clements
- Board Treasurer Elizabeth Wegner
The resignations are effective Wednesday, Nov. 11. A press release from the school says each has stepped down for individual, personal reasons. A board meeting will be held next Wednesday to elect new officers.
The press release also announced that the search has begun for an interim Head of School. Dan Kohler had been Head of School at NRCCS for three years. He was dismissed by the board Tuesday, Nov. 4, with a statement from the board that said that a “leadership change was in the best interest of the school and its community.”

Colorado State Senator Dylan Roberts has announced that he is running for re-election to represent Senate District 8, which includes Routt and Moffat counties. Roberts was raised in Routt County but now lives in Frisco. This would be his second term as state senator. He also served two terms in the Colorado House.
Veterans Day recognitions continue. Local veterans were honored at Sleeping Giant School Wednesday.
The Board of Directors for the Yampa Valley Housing Authority meets at noon today, in the Community Room of the Routt County Department of Human Services building at 6th and Oak.

Moffat County School District is providing meals for free on Friday. These are meal bags for families with children who are experiencing food insecurity. Stop by the front of Moffat County High School from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, to pick up bags with three days worth of breakfasts and lunches, provided by the school district. No I.D. is needed. The school district writes, “If you need food, we’re here for you.”

The fall production for the theatre group at Moffat County High School starts tonight. It’s three short, one-act plays. Here’s three members of the tech crew with a few details.
Moffat County High School’s Theatre fall production will be three short, one-act plays: “The Visitors” by Del Martin, “I, Chorus” by Ian McWerthy, and “Our Place” by Terry Wayne Gabbard. This year, the performances are at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13-15, with a special 2 p.m. matinee on that Saturday. Tickets are $8 for general admission or free for Moffat County High School students with their student I.D. The production is in the MCHS Auditorium.

Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp has named Deena Selko has Executive Director. She’ll be working with summer staff and on year-round opportunities for local youth. Selko has been serving as interim director for the past two months.

The Warren Miller movie “Sno-Ciety” is Nov. 13-15 at Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs. It’s hosted by Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club as an annual fundraiser to support SSWSC athletes.. One section of this year’s movie includes the 43rd annual Cardboard Classic at Steamboat Resort. Showtimes are 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and two showings at 4 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online. Link to purchase tickets.

Yampa Valley Foods is celebrating “Local Food, Local People” with a Happy Hour from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at 35 11th Street in Steamboat Springs. The event is being held as a partnership with Community Agriculture Alliance and LiftUp of Routt County, to connect local producers with neighbors in need.

An event to remember Charlie Kirk is being held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, on the lawn of the Historic Routt County Courthouse. Organizers say all are welcome, whether you agree with Charlie Kirk’s views or not, that no political parties will be discussed, and that the event is to promote a civil dialogue.

The Steamboat Sailors are playing for the CHSAA 3A Boys Soccer State Championships! The Sailors won Wednesday night’s semi-final match over Jefferson Academy after double overtime, and then 4-3 in penalty kicks.
The #3 ranked Sailors will face #4 ranked Kent Denver at noon on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Switchbacks Weidner Field in Colorado Springs.
