The Steamboat Sailors Boys Soccer team is in the championship game for the CHSAA 3A State Soccer Championships at noon on Saturday. The game against Kent Denver is at Switchbacks Weidner Field in Colorado Springs.

This is the second appearance in a state soccer championships match for the Steamboat Sailors. The team finished as state runner-up in 1996.
The Kent Denver Sun Devils return to the final for the first time since winning their fifth state championship in six seasons in 2019. Other titles were in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. Kent Denver is bidding to become the seventh program in the state with six or more boys soccer state championships. Kent Denver is also a five-time runner-up (1993, 1997, 2001, 2002 and 2012).
Here are a few pictures from the semi-final thriller over Jefferson Academy on Thursday night, courtesy Mike Morris. The game went to a Penalty Kick Shootout after two overtimes without a score. The first picture is of Kane Morris in the shootout. Then SSHS goalie Charlie Wiedel make the game winning save in the shoot, and the team celebration began.
