Your voice matters: Take a 10-minute survey to help shape the future of mental health services in the Yampa Valley.

Individuals ages 18+ who live and/or work in Moffat and Routt Counties are invited to participate in a community-wide survey to help improve and expand mental and behavioral health resources in the region.

Results will help local organizations understand where the greatest needs exist and identify ways to strengthen services and community connections to meet the mental health needs of our region.

Collaborating partners include: The Health Partnership, REPS, Northwest Colorado Health, UCHealth YVMC, Health Solutions West, and Warhorse Ranch.

The more responses gathered, the more informed we will be about potential next steps to enhance mental behavioral health efforts in our community.  Have your voice heard!

The 10-minute survey is in English and Spanish at: www.prcsurvey.com/begin/YampaValley2026

MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SURVEY UNDER WAY IN THE YAMPA VALLEY

(STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO, November 19, 2025) ― Individuals who live and/or work in Moffat and Routt Counties are invited to participate in a community-wide survey to help improve and expand mental and behavioral health resources in the region.  The survey, launched last week by the Yampa Valley Community Foundation (YVCF) with national research partner PRC, is in collaboration with several local agencies including The Health Partnership, REPS, Northwest Colorado Health, UCHealth YVMC, Health Solutions West, and Warhorse Ranch.

The confidential survey asks questions about community connections, quality of life, and health needs related to mental health and alcohol use.  Results will help local organizations understand where the greatest needs exist and identify ways to strengthen services and community connections to meet the mental health needs of our region.

“While other community surveys have gathered important data regarding overall health and wellbeing, this survey will take a deep-dive into the critical topic of mental health,” says Brittney Wilburn, Executive Director of The Health Partnership.

An online survey is available now at www.prcsurvey.com/begin/YampaValley2026 until February 2026.  Phone surveys of approximately 400 individuals in the area will be conducted by the research firm PRC from November 2025-February 2026.

“Because this survey focuses on behavioral health issues, it will augment the data previously collected,” says Tim Wohlgenant, YVCF CEO/President. “The intent is to conduct this survey every two years, which will give us baseline and ongoing data to validate what our communities and direct service providers have been saying anecdotally and to evaluate what new programs are working and what still needs to be addressed.”

Households that receive a phone survey will be selected at random, and both the online and phone survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete. Phone and online surveys will be available in English and Spanish.  YVCF will be working with partner agencies and the community at large to encourage broad participation.

“It’s crucial to have a wide range of people across the valley participate; diverse input will be vital to creating a holistic view of what is happening with behavioral health in the region,” says Wohlgenant.

The survey is part of a larger collaborative effort that YVCF is embarking upon in partnership with the Katz Amsterdam Foundation, called the KAF Network. This network pulls together leaders and data on mental health resources and needs from 11 rural resort communities, presenting a unique opportunity for coordination, cooperation and shared learning across these communities.
