Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser visited Northwest Colorado Monday. He met with local residents and different groups including the Boys & Girls Club in Craig. From the Boys & Girls Club:
“We were honored to have Attorney General Weiser and his team join us at the Craig Boys & Girls Club to learn more about the importance of out-of-school-time programs for rural Colorado families. He took time to learn about who the Club serves and the challenges Clubs are facing,” said Dana Duran, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Colorado.
Moffat County School District School Resource Officer, Sambu Shrestha, who is a bit of a celebrity among the kids also surprised the kids with a visit.
He also met with Steamboat Springs Police Chief Mark Beckett and Rabbi Kolby with STAND, which is Steamboat Team to Disrupt Antisemitism and Discrimination.
“It’s important that we all call out rising hate and demonization and instead commit to being in fellowship, supporting one another, keeping each other safe. I love how your Police Chief here, Mark Beckett, has really made common cause with the work of STAND, and is taking seriously the hate against any of us, needs to be treated like hate against all of us. Such a great organization. A model for the state.”
Attorney General Weiser also met with local residents at a Town Hall because he said he has heard concerns about the cost of waste disposal and food in our communities. He says people have been complaining to the Attorney General’s office about prices going up.
