Resort Group in Steamboat Springs has been purchased by Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. Resort Group is a property and rental management company that oversees more than 400 nightly rental properties, and manages 77 HOAs.
Resort Group was acquired from the McDowell Family through McDowell Steamboat LLC, which has 40-plus years of owning and occupying real estate in Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation Acquires Resort Group
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO– March 3, 2026- Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation (SSRC) has closed on the acquisition of Resort Group, an established leader in the Steamboat Springs property and rental management market. This marks a strategic step in SSRC’s expansion into the lodging and hospitality space and enhancing the overall destination experience.
Resort Group oversees more than 400 nightly rental properties and manages 77 homeowners’ associations through various entities including Mountain Resorts, Simply Steamboat, and Steamboat Association Management. With decades of experience in the Steamboat lodging market, Resort Group has deep local expertise and trusted relationships across the community. Under SSRC ownership, Resort Group will benefit with access to expanded resources and long-term investment, positioning the business for growth in the Steamboat market. The combined platform will allow property owners the opportunity to retain more value from their rentals while benefiting from resort-driven demand and marketing reach.
