Another scam alert today… this time from Moffat County. Someone is trying to get donations using your credit card to support Moffat County Search and Rescue. It’s a scam, and if you get a call like this, hang up and reach out to the sheriff’s office.

Another scam alert came from a listener about scammers telling her her bank account had been hacked, and the bank had approved an illegal wire transfer of over $13,500. They said the FBI was involved, and they involved a fake letter from the FBI. The bank was able to intercept the scam money transfer, and told the person it had been happening to many Steamboat locals over the last year. Always check with your bank in person, if you think a phone call you’re getting may be fake.
