Steamboat Resort has announced it will now close for the season on Sunday, April 5.
The original closing date was April 19. Then that date was changed to April 12, back on March 17.
Now, the closing date has moved up again to April 5.
There will be no Cardboard Classic this year.
The Splashdown Pond Skim will be on Closing Day, Sunday, April 5, up at Rendezvous Lodge. It starts at 11 a.m. Register HERE for the event.
Bud Light Rocks The Boat Free Concerts will be on April 4, and on April 12.

Media Alert: New Closing Day Announced
Steamboat Resort will now close for the 2025/26 season on Sunday, April 5.
With the updated closing date, the following adjustments have been made to the spring events calendar:
- Due to the limited snow in the base area, the Cardboard Classic will not take place this year.
- The Bud Light Rocks the Boat free concert on April 4 featuring The Sweet Lillies will continue as scheduled.
- The Splashdown Pond Skim will take place on Closing Day, Sunday, April 5 at Rendezvous Lodge at 11 a.m. Registration details are available on the event listing here. Lift access and the ability to ski/ride to the venue will be required for participants and spectators.
- Steamboat Resort will host a Bud Light Rocks the Boat double-header free concert and community celebration on Sunday, April 12 in Steamboat Square featuring:
- 2:30-4 p.m.: Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel
- 4:30-6 p.m.: The Wailers
