The board for the Yampa Valley Regional Transportation Authority met this week and received a check for $500,000 from Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation as the first installment check to the RTA.
Steamboat Resort spokesperson Maren Franciosi writes, “This milestone marks a meaningful investment in building a robust and innovative regional transit system that will benefit communities across the Yampa Valley.”
The current agreement is for Steamboat Resort to provide $1 million annually for the first three years, in two installments per year, with the intention of signing a longer term deal.
The RTA is a voter-approved organization that plans, finances, and operates a regional transportation system.
