Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. 

The production of “Descendants: The Musical” starts Friday night at The Hayden Center, presented by the Yampa Valley Players. There will be five performance.

• May 3 – 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
• May 8 – 7 p.m.
• May 10 – 7 p.m.

 

Director Abbey Iberg says the age range of the performers is from 5th grade to 11th grade, plus one adult, from both Hayden and Steamboat Springs.

“It was cast this way intentionally to help bridge the gap between elementary, middle, and high school performers, so that they can get familiar with students they will perform with in the coming years as they transition into middle and high school.”

Iberg adds, “The Yampa Valley Players are one of the few performing arts organizations in the valley that requires zero entry fees for participation. We strive to cover our costs with ticket sales and sponsorship.”
