The Campbell Property is now owned by the City of Steamboat Springs. This is a pair of parcels, about 2.16 acres at 1707 Lincoln Ave., just west of the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Purchase price was $4,168,314, funded entirely through the city’s Short-Term Rental Tax revenues.
The city also plans to purchase nearby CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation parcels) which will connect the two areas near the community center. The properties will support local affordable housing in the area of the Stockbridge Transit Center, and possibly childcare, aging adult services, and transportation options.

Aces High Waste and Recycling is under new local ownership. Brian and Hannah (Mihaich) Erhart have purchased the local business from Mark and Autum Sloop. Brian Erhart has confirmed no price changes, same staff, and same location on 13th Street in Steamboat Springs.
“At a time when a lot of local businesses are kind of being bought up by bigger, out-of-town companies, we had an opportunity to work with Mark and Autum Sloop to keep this business family owned, locally run, and in the Yampa Valley.”
Aces High provides local sanitation and waste services in Steamboat Springs and the surrounding areas, portable toilets, roll-off dumpster rentals, construction and demolition waste, commercial and event sanitation, and emergency response.
Mark & Autum Sloop are continuing as owners of Rocky Mountain Towing.

Be aware of new spring wildlife. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says to be aware of wildlife families on this Mother’s Day. Allow animal mothers to do what they do best and that is to care for their young in the wild. CPW says to leave baby wildlife alone. Don’t touch them or feed them or thing they need to be rescued. Keep your dogs leashed and don’t let them chase wildlife either.
If you think an animal in the wild is sick or injured, just leave it alone and call your local Colorado Parks and Wildlife office. In Steamboat Springs, that number is 970-870-3333. In Meeker, the number is 970-878-6090.
And do not ever feed wildlife. Under Colorado law, feeding wildlife is illegal because it poses a risk to wildlife health and safety. Those in violation are subject to fines, and even worse, can cause the animal to become sick and die.
