(L-R) Brian Wheat^ Troy Luccketta and Jeff Keith of Tesla performs onstage at the Paramount on October 25^ 2018 in Huntington^ New York.

Tesla has revealed plans for Homage, a new studio album arriving July 17. The project revisits the band’s early influences, bringing together a set of reinterpretations that celebrate some of music’s most iconic voices and songs.

More than four decades after starting out as a cover band on the California club circuit, Tesla is revisiting that foundation. Like their early inspirations, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, the group originally sharpened its identity by performing songs from earlier generations—something Homage now brings full circle.

Drawing inspiration from other legends like Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Etta James, and James Brown, the album reflects the artists who helped shape Tesla’s sound. Many of the selections also trace back to songs the band grew up hearing long before they built their own catalog.

The band said in a statement: “‘I Love You,’ like all the tracks on Homage, not only pays tribute to legends but gives us a chance to showcase our lead singer’s diversity as well as the musical dynamics we learned as a band many years ago. Our new album Homage is a thank-you note written in sound. An offering to the great singers and songs that shaped the music we grew up listening to, and the songs we would eventually write. We hope you all enjoy this as much as we did making it. Thank you for all the years – Keep it Real and Keep On Rockin’!”

In addition to the album release, Tesla will hit the road this summer alongside Mötley Crüe and Extreme on The Return of the Carnival of Sins Tour, kicking off July 17 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, and wrapping up September 26 in Ridgefield, Washington.

Fans can preview the album release with Tesla’s updated take on the Climax Blues Band classic “I Love You” (2026 Version), which arrives alongside an official music video  Take a look – HERE.
